Dental Bridges
Are there gaps in your teeth? Do missing teeth keep you from smiling? Dr. Parmer offers dental bridges to cover gaps and make smiles whole again.
Bridges are constructed with replacement teeth on a metal framework and attached to abutting teeth in the mouth to keep it in place. The replacement teeth can be made of porcelain or other materials and made to match your natural tooth color.
The most requested type of bridge placed is a traditional bridge. A crown is placed on each abutting tooth, and the metal frame is bonded to the back of the crowns.
A more conservative option is a Maryland bridge. Instead of placing crowns, the bridge is bonded directly onto the back of the natural abutting teeth.
With Cantilever bridges, the bridge is bonded to a single cemented crown instead of two. This is used when only one tooth is available next to the missing teeth.
Implant-supported bridges are bonded to the crowns of two implants (one on each side of the missing teeth). This procedure takes longer and is more expensive but is a very strong and stable option.
Dr. Jay Parmer can discuss which bridge option is the best for you.
