Dentures

Removable dentures are the most common method of replacing missing teeth.  Dentures are custom-made for each patient and can replace a few missing teeth or a whole row of missing teeth, whether on the top, bottom, or both rows.

After receiving your dentures, Dr. Jay Parmer adjusts them to prevent irritation of the mouth.  Additional adjustments can be made if irritation returns.

Removable dentures are easy to clean by removing them each night before bed and gently brushing them, then storing them in water overnight.  Some patients use effervescent tablets to help keep their dentures clean of food debris and plaque.

Dentures should be removed each night so that the mouth has time to rest.  While the mouth is resting, the tongue and saliva can also perform their natural cleaning process.

The two types of dentures are partial and complete.  A complete set is used if an entire row of teeth is missing or if the remaining teeth require extraction due to damage or disease.

If only some teeth in the row are missing, a partial set is made using a metal framework and the replacement teeth.  The framework is designed to clip into the remaining teeth to remain in place.

Parmer Dental offers custom-made dentures for your dental needs.
